Leading order, next-to-leading order, and nonperturbative parton collision kernels: Effects in static and evolving media

چکیده

Energetic partons traveling in a strongly interacting medium lose energy by emitting radiation and through collisions with constituents. Nonperturbative, next-to-leading-order leading-order collision kernels are implemented within AMY-McGill formalism. The resulting gluon emission rates then evaluated compared considering scattering occurring brick of quark-gluon plasma, as well realistic simulation $\mathrm{Pb}+\mathrm{Pb}$ at $\sqrt{s}=2.76$ ATeV using martini. We find that the variations quenching hard from different can be important, depending on overall value strong-coupling constant ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{\mathrm{s}}$.

Compton scattering in next - to - leading order

We study the amplitude of deeply virtual Compton scattering in next-to-leading order of perturbation theory including the two-loop evolution effects for different sets of skewed parton distributions (SPDs). It turns out that in the minimal subtraction scheme the relative radiative corrections are of order 20-50%. We analyze the dependence of our predictions on the choice of SPD, that will allow...

Multiple parton emission effects in next-to-leading-order direct photon production.

A recent global analysis of direct photon production at hadron collider and fixed target experiments has noted a disturbing trend of disagreement between next-to-leading-order (NLO) calculations and data. The conjecture has been made that the discrepancy is due to explicit multiple parton emission effects which are not accounted for in the theoretical calculations. We investigate this problem b...

Transverse parton distribution functions at next-to-next-to-leading order: the quark-to-quark case.

We present a calculation of the perturbative quark-to-quark transverse parton distribution function at next-to-next-to-leading order based on a gauge invariant operator definition. We demonstrate for the first time that such a definition works beyond the first nontrivial order. We extract from our calculation the coefficient functions relevant for a next-to-next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic Q...

Next-to-Next-to-Leading Order QCD Corrections to the Photon’s Parton Structure

The next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) corrections in massless perturbative QCD are derived for the parton distributions of the photon and the deep-inelastic structure functions F γ 1 and F γ 2 . We present the full photonic coefficient functions at order ααs and calculate the first six even-integer moments of the corresponding O(ααs ) photon-quark and photon-gluon splitting functions togethe...

Annihilation to Next-to-leading Order Accuracy *

We discuss the production of two hadrons in e + e − annihilation within the framework of perturbative QCD. The cross section for this process is calculated to next-to-leading order accuracy with a selection of variables that allows the consideration of events where the two hadrons are detected in the same jet. In this configuration we contemplate the possibility that the hadrons come from a dou...
